8.40 square miles and is drained by Saco River. The town borders Lyman, Hollis and Buxton and the cities of Saco and Biddeford are nearby. 

Once inhabited by the Sokokis (or Saco) Indians, who hunted and fished along the Saco River, Dayton now is primarily residential. The schools, colleges and shopping malls are nearby and the town is also a great place to enjoy family-friendly activities. The 6 acre cornmaze of Pumpkin Valley Farm is popular mainly among the children. The kids can go for the cow train ride, feed the friendly farm animals, play on the slide or tire swings. While the elders can attempt to shoot ears of corn at the targets or watch kettle corn being made all day at the Valley Farm.
