named for Limerick, Ireland, by James Sullivan, who established the town in 1771. The town borders Newfield, Parsonsfield, Cornish, Waterboro and Limington and is drained by Leavitt Brook, Brown Brook and Spencer Brook.

Located only 45 minutes from Portland, Limerick is rich in folklore.
