The town has great many things to offer- first-rate education, recreational activities and entertainment events.

Education

Waterboro has an outstanding education system. The town is home to Massabesic High School,  Massabesic Middle School, and the Waterboro Elementary School and it is part of Regional School Unit 57 (RSU 57). It provides excellent education to its students. Besides the schools, there is a library named Waterboro Public Library which regularly organizes special events for children. 

Waterboro Barrens

Waterboro is home to the Waterboro Barrens- 2,140-acre Nature Conservancy preserve. It is one of the largest and best preserved pitch pine barrens in Maine. A hike in the barren allows you to see the serene woodland along with the different species of rare butterflies and moths, including the pine barrens buck moth.

Waterboro has 4 public parks: Friendship Park, Gobeil Park Picnic Area at Little Ossipe, Lion’s Field, Bob Fay Memorial Park. Most of these parks have picnic areas, playgrounds, and lots of space for outdoor activities.
